This Pub is Permanently Closed
The pub was named after the novel The Moon & Sixpence by Somerset Maugham in the 1940s. Compelling Wye Valley landscape here, not least on the bar where two Wye Valley ales are always available plus a guest that's often from the nearby Kingston brewery; the valley's splendour beckons, too, as does the pub's good value food. Sunny days allow you to embrace them all on a split-level terrace overlooking the A466 and the pub car park opposite towards the river. Within, a complexity of small rooms and a natural indoor spring add to the pub's distinctiveness. Occasional live folk bands are popular. Good choice of tempting meals available including monthly good value food nights. Visitors and locals alike invariably return.
Update (Nov 2015): Reported much work going on inside but outside signage has been removed.
