Lively city centre pub catering mainly for older clientele. It hosts regular singing evenings performed by the locals. A former Wilsons pub it was acquired by J W Lees in 2004. The friendly landlord often mixes and chats with his customers. There are three distinct drinking areas and the large front windows are opened when the weather allows. Accommodation was available but this is no longer the case. Underwent refurbishment in late June 2014 which included opening former office space into an extra drinking area at the rear of the pub. There is regular karaoke at this venue.
