The Maltings is located on the first floor of the building, above the former Jarrow Brewery. Take the staircase or lift to a partitioned room with a large central bar and plenty of seating. Most of the former decor remains and has 3 changing ales handpulls. Wednesday is quiz night and Thursday is Rock night. Underneath the Maltings, occupying the space once used by the former brewery, is a new bar called The Chameleon. This does not sell real ale.
7 minute walk to South Shields Metro

Conversion
Jarrow Brewery bought the former Co-op dairy to house their brewery on the ground floor with the brewery tap on the first floor. An impressive wood-panelled staircase leads to The Maltings on the first floor which has a partitioned room with a large central bar that boasts good quality fittings. It manages to retain the feel of an old brewery and to honour its past. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and on Wednesday and Thursday lunchtimes. The bar serves real ale but not food. The ground floor is separate and does not serve real ale.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers and 0 regular beers.
