Previously named The Wrestlers prior to a 2023 refurbishment, this fine old pub, dating from the 18th century, has an inglenook fireplace with an original oven, as well as lots of beams and brass. There is one bar on different levels with conservatory at the rear. A large garden has children's play things and a pets' corner. Situated in a modern part of the town, the pub was cut off when the railway bridge collapsed in 1966 and only a footbridge now exists. There is a popular carvery on Sunday lunchtime.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer (The pub rotates Greene King Abbott Ale and Timothy Taylor Landlord on its second handpump.) and 1 regular beer.
