The main bar of Hammersmith’s Lyric Theatre occupies a large open well-lit space on the second floor of the building and is popular with theatre-goers and local office workers and shoppers alike. Contemporarily decorated and furnished, it offers just one draught beer - Hepworth's Saxon Lager on keg font – as well as a range of grilled food prepared in the open kitchen beside the bar. The large roof terrace with its potted palms is tempting the year round. The theatre offers a mixture of old favourites and more challenging works in its Studio on the same level and in its Main House, the Frank Matcham designed auditorium of which was painstakingly rebuilt inside the new building in 1979, accessed from the floor above.
NOTE: The bar usually closes at about 9pm on evenings when there is no performance in the theatre.
