This large sprawling pub is well used during the day; and the large walled garden at the rear provides plenty of space for relaxing drinking and eating. Inside, the real fire gives the pub a cosy atmosphere on the coldest of winter days. As part of the Old English Inns brand from Greene King there is an extensive menu of snacks and meals available all day. The pub is grade II* listed, and was sympathetically extended a few years ago. The central lounge appears completely genuine. There is also a smaller 'secret' garden which is a good place to view some of the interesting architectural features.
