Reopened as a public house after a 6 year closure in December 2024. Situated in the upper reaches of the Severn valley in the heart of Mid Wales. The pub has been given a smart makeover and has a fresh and bright interior. Food is the main focus here, although drinkers are more than welcome in the public bar where you can expect to engage in conversation with the chatty locals. After concerns from the local estate about alcohol being served in the village, the Lion was actually run as a Temperance Hotel for around 40 years, until 1959 when it was thankfully relicensed. As with many country inns, the pub may possibly close earlier than the advertised hours if quiet during the week, so it maybe worth calling ahead if travelling from afar. Real ale is planned for the future but there is an extensive keg range from Tiny Rebel available(Dec 2024).
