This unpretentious free house is tucked away in a quiet street behind City Hall, near College Green and the Cathedral. It offers a constantly-changing range of six cask ales, usually including two dark beers, featuring both local breweries and those less often seen in Bristol. There are also two traditional ciders available. Beer festivals are a common occurrence throughout the year. The pub consists of two rooms, linked by the bar, with the front room featuring a mural wall with a depiction of a rural lime kiln. Board and card games are available in the back room. Customers are welcome to bring their own food. There is a public car park opposite, with city centre bus stops a few minutes' walk away.
