Imposing building to one side of the market place in Chapel, originally a stopping point on the Manchester to Buxton turnpike. Re-opened in December 2015 following extensive refurbishment, closed from 2019 until 2022 with new tenants and a fresh look.
On entry, the open-plan bar area to the right is furnished with a mixture of traditional chairs and pews and leather sofas; a tiled floor area surrounds the bar with wooden flooring elsewhere.
To the left is a separate restaurant which is rather elegantly laid out and exudes a calm ambiance.
There are six handpulls and six keg taps on the bar, not all may be in use. Real ale is from local, regional and national breweries.
