This Pub is Permanently Closed
Closed in 2005 and is now a Chinese Restaurant.
The pub, at the comer of Denmark Road, was named in honour of King Christian IX of Denmark, father of Princess Alexandra who came to England in 1863 to marry the Prince of Wales; the pub was built at that time. It become one of only two tied houses belonging to the town's Edgar Austen's Regent Brewery.
