Set high above the road and the River Rother near Trotton Bridge, this 17th-century inn boasts low ceilings, bare wood floors and a comfortable sofa by an open log fire. A smart dining area features an adventurous menu, but the bar remains welcoming to drinkers. The elevated patio around two sides of the pub is popular in fine weather. Real cider is usually available in the summer. There is level access only from the car park, via the restaurant entrance.
