Located in the centre of Crawley High Street the pub is an early addition to the chain, it is probably one of the smaller venues. It occupies premises that were formerly a building society. This Wetherspoon pub takes its name from the oak tree in front of the building. The tree was planted in 1887, by Lord de Blaquiere of Springfield House, to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee..

The pub was refurbished recently (2025) the interior is much brighter with many mirrors making the venue reminiscent of an Edwardian Pub. As usual local history journey adorns some of the walls.

You will find ten hand pumps all grouped at the centre of the bar.
