The pub occupies a L‐shaped 16th century timber‐framed farmhouse. The first floor now tile‐hung but framing still visible on the ground with brick infilling. The Grade II listed building that formerly housed the Education Department of Crawley Borough Council. This is a pub and restaurant with a strong emphasis on food. The pub is situated at the edge of Goffs Park and has an extensive garden to the front of the building.
The property was formerly the home of the actor Peter Vaughan (Grouty in the sitcom Porridge).
