This lively back-street local lager drinkers pub, and a free-house since 1992, featured in CAMRA's 1989 and 1990 Good Beer Guides, but sadly real ale was withdrawn in 2003 'due to lack of demand'. While parts of the building are thought to date back to the 16th-century, it may not have been a pub until the 18th-century. The public bar and lounge areas are essentially linked to form a large T-shaped single room, the older sections featuring ceiling beams. Occasional live music and disco/karaoke nights.
