This Pub is Permanently Closed

An old town pub dating back to at least 1881 (perhaps older) and known as the West End Bar. By the early 2000's it was an Irish themed bar called O'Shaughnessy's, then changed to Jackie's Bar. The pub was closed by April 2014 and lay derelict for over a decade. Finally in January 2025 planning permission was granted for demolition and the site was cleared in April 2025 to make way for new student housing to be build.
