This Pub is Closed Long Term
Previously Pickwick's Wine Bar and still with the landmark Pickwick clock above the entrance, this has now turned into The Italian Job, named after the classic film starring a fleet of Mini cars with Michael Caine and Noel Coward in supporting roles. This is the first Italian craft beer outlet in the UK and is partly backed by the Parma-based brewers Birrificio del Ducato, along with two other Italian partners experienced in the food and drink trade. There are twelve Italian craft beers available including two on handpump, and the intention is to change them seasonally. The handpump beers are from low-pressure keykegs so craft beer not real ale by CAMRA's definition; but may include a bitter brewed for the English market. A good selection of bottled beers, wine and spirits are also available; the bottled range may expand as an off-sales licence is in prospect. The food offering currently includes burgers with an Italian twist, small bites and Italian charcuterie. The clientele tends towards young professionals.
NB. A planning application submitted in 28th June 2021 for Change of Use of ground floor unit from a drinking establishment to a mixed use of a restaurant with takeaway. System Reference: P/2021/2644 (Hounslow council).
