This Pub is Permanently Closed
Brand new Yates's pub opened in July 1994. A welcome re-entry to the London scene from this Lancashire based, well established chain with at the time of opening only one other London outlet in Avery Row, Mayfair, W1. Large, well lit and highly decorative in typical style with mirrors, coloured glass windows and screens, high ceiling, chandeliers etc. Stairs lead to a balcony bar. Despite the traditional decor, regrettably real ale is almost incidental with the emphasis on wines, Sangria, mixed drinks and keg beers of dubious origins. Pictures of old Yates's pubs adorn the wails including the Bun Shop in the Strand, sold and converted to an Italian restaurant in 1982. Good value hot food. Disabled toilet and lift to balcony.
Converted to Ha! Ha! in 2003, and later a nightclub. Demolished in 2017 for the Filmworks development.
