A traditional hostelry in the back streets of Exeter established in 1848 the pub is in the hub of the local area close to the Quay and about five minutes' walk from the main city centre. It is now operated by Exeter Brewery and also offers two real keg ciders. The newly refurbished dining room is open and dinner is available Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, and lunch Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Snacks and light meals are available at all other times.
Community Supported
The future of the Hour Glass Inn was uncertain, and a new community group, Ourglass Exeter, was set up looking at different options, including the possibility of it becoming a community-owned pub. The pub has been designated as an Asset of Community Value by Exeter City Council. The pub's owners Stonegate were advertising for a new tenant/leaseholder to run the pub, but could consider selling the pub if they fail to find a new owner, and encouraged by the support from the local community, the pub was purchased by Exeter Brewery.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer (Exeter Brewery) and 5 regular beers.
