This Pub is Permanently Closed
About 300 years old, this was a former Courage house before Ushers took over in the early 1990s. Ownership passed into the hands of Alehouse Properties in 1999. The interior has retained its intimate feel with several rooms where customers can settle in and feel at home. As you enter, a small compact public bar is on the immediate left with a rare serving hatch used for off sales. The bar gives access to an upstairs games room set aside for darts, pool and skittles or private functions. On a higher level again is the Hayloft Restaurant that once offered a comfortable venue for Sunday lunch. Downstairs and at the rear is a cosy lounge from which access is gained to a small enclosed garden.
Now trading as the Horseshoe Fish Bar.
