A large pub on the north-eastern edge of the town centre. There are two separate bars, one of which is essentially a restaurant. The two guest ales are very often from the excellent local brewery Twisted.

At the front is an attractive patio-style outside drinking area, which can be something of a sun-trap in the summer, a large garden, which runs down to the Bitham Brook, with plenty of seating, and a large car park.

Opposite the pub is a detached buiding known as the 'Potting Shed' which can be hired as a function room.
