The Half Moon is at the centre of Reedness, on the south bank of the River Ouse. To the right as you enter from the front door is the deservedly popular restaurant, meals served every evening (except Monday) and Sunday lunchtime. Booking is strongly advised for the Sunday lunchtime carvery. Sittings at noon, 1.30pm & 3pm. A pizza van is available in the car park on Mondays.
To the left is an L-shaped room, tastefully furnished, with a pool table and an occasional large screen TV. Quiz night Sunday (around 9pm); occasional live music. There is a caravan site behind the pub, with en-suite chalets and other increasing facilities. The RSPB reserve at Blacktoft Sands is 3 miles further east, although the village of Blacktoft is nearly 20 miles away by road. Opens at 1200 Saturdays with food available during school summer holidays, and at other times when there is local interest. Check ahead before travelling. January 2024 real ale no longer available.
