This Pub is Closed Long Term
Architecturally the pub is of a classic coaching inn style, with two bars, function room and coaching arch. Once in a more rural setting, modern-day residential Cheshunt has expanded around the pub which offers two guest real ales, regularly rotated. Expect a warm welcome from the longstanding landlords and residents alike. There are two crib teams that play on Monday nights and discos some weekends.
Historic Interest
Built in1590 as part of the Spanish ambassador residence James 1 often held residence at theobalds park.the pub was soon turned into a courthouse,then in 1627 the pub became a coaching in and a stop for coaches to London.
