This Pub is Closed Long Term
A grade II listed three storey pub situated in a terrace which was once associated with Thomas Powell, one of the chartist reformers of the early 19th century. Originally two buildings separated by a tunnel passage, which the left part being the original public house. Refurbished throughout with sofas and wooden seats. There is a large beer garden at the rear which proves popular in the warmer months. Has reopened and closed a few times over the last few years. Now opened again and reinvented itself as a cocktail and shot bar. Despite real ale previously been popular with the local population the new tenants have regrettably decided not to stock any and have decided to concentrate on a narrower demographic younger audience. **CLOSED AGAIN 26/11/2016**
