Set in the centre of a picturesque village on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and at the start of the long-distance Lyke Wake Walk, this old inn is popular with hikers, casual visitors and locals. Much of the focus is on high quality locally-sourced food but drinkers are always made welcome (tables inside may be reserved, but can be used up to close before the reserved time) and the view from the outside drinking tables makes them popular on fine days. Regularly changing beers are from local breweries. Dogs are welcome with well-behaved owners.
