This Pub is Permanently Closed

Another Matthew Brown pub that stood at the corner of New Hall Lane and Pakington Street. Both the pub and the street corner have gone - the pub was closed in 1981 and subsequently demolished. New housing was erected to the rear of the site, although the plot of land the pub stood on is now a grassed area.

The photograph shows another typical street corner 'boozer'. It looks like the brickwork was painted - does anybody remember the colour?
