This Pub is Permanently Closed

Demolished 1/3/1992, site is now a vehicle rental storage compound. Closed 1/3/1992. History: Former very large, and well-appointed Chester's house, latterly Whitbread. This was to the west of, and in shadow of the railway bridge. It was next door to the Old House at Home. Opening Times magazine April 1992 reported closed and for sale; Opening Times magazine Sept 1992 reported demolition.
