Despite its name, the Bridgnorth Club is a public house open to all. The premises used to be the Royal British Legion but has been transformed to a family-run venue appealing to all,both young and old.

The pub is housed in a medieval "Cruck" house with structural timbers dated as being from the late 14th Century, and a history of the building is posted outside on the street (see photograph).

The cafe is open from 0930 until 1630 while the bar is licensed from 1200. There is a very large sheltered beer garden at the rear. Full meal service stops at 1630, but cobs and bar snacks are available after.

There is a DJ or live music every Saturday and Sunday (see website for details), Bingo on Fridays and a quiz every fortnight on Sundays. The folk club meets on alternate Tuesday evenings.

Historic Interest

A rare survivor of the medieval cruck-built building: Tree-ring analysis suggests the building was initially built between 1392 and 1422, probably as a warehouse for the goods traffic from the nearby river. Much altered over the years, by the middle 20th century it was used as a club for the many members of the armed forces stationed in the area. In 2023 it was re-licensed as a public house and now serves as a social hub for the Low Town area.
