Popular, small and friendly multi-award winning, single room, cafe-style bar. Simply but smartly furnished. Six hand-pulled real ales include some from the in-house BEEspoke microbrewery with guests usually from local and regional breweries. Real ciders are available, usually including one from a local producer, as are a wide range of international bottled beers. Three niche world-class lagers are available on draught. If you don't want anything alcoholic, coffee is also offered. Handy for quick refreshment when waiting for trains as the station is close to the rear of the building. There is live music every Tuesday & Wednesday evening and bands often perform on a Saturday night when the pub can become very busy. A Monday quiz starts at 8pm. The pub may close earlier depending upon the demand.
