This Pub is Permanently Closed
The Fox & Hounds began life as a beer house and was trading by 1837 or possibly earlier. It was at one time owned by the Kenward and Court brewery in Hadlow and, as the archive photo shows, later became a Charrington's tied house. It ended its days as a free house but even this was not enough to save the pub and it was closed and sold for redevelopment in 1998. The building was torn down and inevitably the site is now occupied by housing.
