On offer is great looking food in pleasant slightly quirky surroundings, some of it a bit like a picture gallery, plus views of the sea. The beers available on tap are various keg offerings from Heineken. Customers have a choice of where to sit as there are four distinct areas; inside the main building, the conservatory, the raised sun deck to rear, and in the garden by the Esplanade by which the venue can also be entered.

Its sister venues in Thanet are Riparo Lounge in Westwood Cross, and Perico Lounge in Ramsgate.

Historic Interest

High on the building facing the Esplanade can be seen the word Marchesi. Many decades ago this was Marchesi’s restaurant. Though no longer in Thanet, this family owned business still exists today as a higher-end eating establishment and specialized bakery. The name Forno Lounge celebrates this fact as Forno is the Italian for oven.
