OCT 2025 - Un-absorbed and launched as a micro-distillery and bar, sister to the Penny Black above and the Black Cat. A good selection of four craft keg beers on the back wall including beers from 71 Brewing, Campervan, Newbarns, Tempest, Pilot, etc. The distillery equipment may be viewed but is not in use yet.

JAN 2025 - THIS PUB HAS BEEN ABSORBED IN TO THE PENNY BLACK ABOVE AND THE NAME ERADICATED.

OCT 2024 - Work continuing. The Black Bull above has reopened as the Penny Black and will sell spirits from an in-house distillery being built in the old Bunker pub.

SEP 2024 - New lessee. Work going on.

MAR 2024 - Closed down on 24th March. Lease will not be renewed by Greene King/Belhaven but is being advertised by Edinburgh City Council along with the Black Bull above as a fully fitted out bar. No planning applications to date.

OCT 2023- reported closed. Reason unknown.
