The former Star Hotel had been closed for a while until it was bought and re-opened in 1989. Known as Quarterbacks for a while and now First Down. The main bar at the front is adorned with memorabilia from the USA. The lounge bar at the rear was added in the mid 1990s used mainly a restaurant, plus in 2002 a conservatory was built catering for 50 guests, it also operates as a function room for private parties. There is a beer garden at the rear. No real ale here.
