Constructed in 1832 as the town's Flannel Exchange during a thriving period for the local flannel trade, the building now operates as the Regent Centre, housing the town’s cinema and nightclub. The pub, located in the semi-subterranean basement, was refurbished in March 2019 after a closure, transforming into an open-plan sports bar. The revamped space features numerous TVs broadcasting various sports events, with high tables, benches, and stools dominating the main drinking areas. To the left and right of the entrance, there are raised sections with more comfortable, lower seating. A large games room at the far end offers pool tables and dartboards. Real ale was discontinued in 2024.
