Engineers Arms, Newport

A pub set in a terrace overlooking the main London to south Wales railway line and close to Newport railway station. Choose from three rooms, a traditional L-shaped public bar, a lively split level bar that hosts music, and a cosy lounge/dining room where much use is made of mirrors around the walls. This pub is enjoying a new lease of life and fast regaining its popularity in the local community with many activities taking place during the week: Wednesday (open mic night 8pm), Thursday (music quiz 9pm), Friday (karaoke 9pm), Saturday (live band), Sunday (poker 7pm). Monday to Friday 5-7pm there is a 'Five o'Clock Club' offering a selection of classic Tapas dishes. The guest ale is sourced from the extensive Molson Coors list while a session beer badged especially for the pub could appear soon. A pub on the up with a good all round package worth trying.
