This is a single L shaped bar with various seating areas including a small outside patio to side and a large new patio to rear of the parking area. Recently reopened under new management after major refurbishment giving it a 'Camden vibe'. Food served in evenings from different independent food trucks

Historic Interest

Also listed at Albion hill. Reputedly the Duke slept here & took wine whilst his men were billetted locally. A report in the Ipswich Journal** on Aug-07 in 1869 when Hannah Parsons (widow) was landlady states: "William Hurrell, 29, a labourer was tried for stealing two pillows & other articles from Mrs Parsons, he was found guilty & received 6 months jail." Laura Crapnell married George Hawkins & were here in 1901 (this information from David Clow) Before 1995 it was called Duke of York & then comprised of a two bar pub with a separate small off-sales area accessed via a LH door from front of building (see older photos). A wooden screen separated this off-sales from the public bar. Reverted to original name in mid-2012. This pub reopened on 22nd Sept 2017 after a short period of closure. Closed mid-May 2019 to late Nov 2019.
