This Pub is Permanently Closed

The Dry Dock closed after 13 May 2018. The pub has been demolished and the site will be redeveloped by Leicester University.

Historic Interest

At the top of a hill, almost as far from the sea as you can get in England, there was a boat. It wasn't Noah's Ark, it was a pub. Established by Bass in 1997 as one of their student-themed "It's A Scream" pubs, and in its later days owned by Stonegate. Situated between two Leicester University Halls of Residence, it had games, music, sports TVs, and giant snakes & ladders! It also attracted football fans on match days. Unfortunately the land was required for university expansion, so the pub had to go.
