Situated on the outskirts of a former mining village this free house dates back to at least 1820. The extra storey was added in 1927 giving the building it's distinctive tall narrow appearance. There used to be a dovecote on the corner, hence the name of the pub. Inside, the large single room houses a popular pool table and dartboard. Quiz night is Tuesday.
