Supposedly dating back to a medieval monastery building as a core but with many alternations from the 18th Century onwards. This Grade II listed pub's former name supposedly comes from the cross dating back to Norman times in the outside wall. However it is the legend of the 200 years old or so allegedly undisturbed bottles in a sealed window at the front which legends says have killed all who have who have moved them including the last an early 19th century landlord which gives the pub its greatest repute. Real ale available in the back bar.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers and 0 regular beers.
