Historic Interest

Final landlady was Diane Morrish and owners Thwaites. In May 1981 it was a Greenall Whitley pub selling Mild and Bitter (E), but by February 1983 it was Keg. In June 1988 it had been refurbished and was now selling Greenall Whitley Bitter (H). It was not listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide so must have been keg only. By December 1999 it was sellling Hydes Bitter but by December 2002 it was Keg only again. In 2004 Thwaites bought the pub as one of 14 from Bedfordshire based Rosewood Pub Company for ÂŁ7M (in total). In August 2006 it was selling Thwaites Lancaster Bomber. In 2010 it had Thwaites Bitter and Lancaster Bomber on the bar. It was rumoured that it was to close at the end of June 2013, but didn't. By March 2014, there was only one handpump selling Lancaster Bomber.
