Set in glorious surroundings, this old favourite has seen significant improvements to the building in recent times. The cosy lounge bar area - which includes a wood-burning stove - has recently been refurbished to give it a more modern feel, and the layout changed to make it more comfortable for drinkers. The pub also includes "Little Eddy's", a pleasant coffee shop serving savoury snacks and sweet treats, The restaurant continues to serve quality local food, with oysters and lobster among the specialties. An alfresco dining area has also been added. There is one hand pump serving rotating beers from Whitewater Brewery. A small range of local bottled ales is also available; some are usually bottle-conditioned. Dogs and well-behaved owners are welcome in the public bar area! (Thanks to Colin for this description).
