18th century pub with two entrances via the historic and eclectic St Nicholas Market, reopened as a music venue after refurbishment in November 2021. Toilets are upstairs, but there is a disabled toilet on the ground floor and disabled access via the rear entrance. A range of hot meals is available in the evenings.
This (along with the Mothers Ruin in Bristol Old City, the Colosseum in Redcliffe, Croft in Stokes Croft and the Greyhound in Fishponds) is run by World Famous Dive Bars Ltd who also acquired the local Good Chemistry brewery in 2025. Cask ale is no longer served.
