Situated on the corner of Byard Lane and Fletcher Gate, a tavern called the Cross Keys has existed on this site for at least 200 hundred years. The current building is thought to be mid/late Victorian, which the architecture and décor would seem to back up. This split-level pub has a very relaxed atmosphere with lots of natural light, high ceilings and wooden floorboards. The outside seating area offers the visitor the chance to unwind in dappled shade and watch the world drift by. The pub has been issued with Best Bar None awards. There is a selection of four cask beers, four craft keg beers and continental bottled beers, including a Cross Keys house beer from St Austell.
