Historic Interest
Delicensed 30/10/13 landlord Philip Taylor and owner Admiral Taverns noted as for Sale March 2013, Pub Closed September 2013. In 1982 it was a Tetley Walker Pub selling Tetley Mild and Walkers Best Bitter (H). It was listed in the Good Beer Guide for 1995,1997 and 1999. A Tetley list in March 1976 confirmed that the pub was selling Walkers not Tetley Bitter. The pub was listed in John Stotts 1977 Guide to Good Beer in Bolton as selling Walker Bitter and Tetley Mild (E), with Juke Box and darts. Another Tetley list in October 1978 again confirmed Walkers Bitter. The Bolton Insert of May 1981 listed the Beers as Walkers Bitter and Tetley Mild (E), by February 1983 it was Walkers Best Bitter and this was confirmed on another Tetley list in August 1983. In 1985 it was included in the selective Greater Manchester Beer Guide. By December 1999 the Pub was selling Tetley Bitter, Robinsons Best Bitter, Batemans Mild (spelt wrong and off!) however by December 2002 only Tetley Mild and Bitter were available. In May 2008 the pub featured in the Morning Advertiser as it had trebled its sales of cask beer.
