This Pub is Permanently Closed
The Coopers Arms (not to be confused with the former pub of the same name in neighbouring Northfleet) served the local community for 50 years until its closure in 1950. The site is now occupied by housing. There were three pubs in Craylands Lane until the loss of The Coopers Arms, which was known locally as the Bottom House as it stood towards the bottom of the hill. See entry for The Rising Sun for further details.
The photo (thanks to www.dover-kent.com) shows that it sold beers brewed by Kidd's of Dartford, which was swallowed by Courage in 1937, so it seems likely that the pub would have been part of the Courage tied estate in its final years.
If anyone has a later photograph than the one shown this would be much appreciated.
