Friendly local, over 200 years old. The unusual split-level layout is built up to the road by the canal bridge. Independently owned since August 2023. Wheelock Angling Society was founded here in 1948 by five local men. Extensive internal refurbishment in Summer 2017, after a short closure. New, more spacious feel to the interior as a result. Monday and Thursday 50p discount on any pint of cask ale, all day. NOTE:- car park adjacent owned by Italian Restaurant fees charged. Car parking available opposite and over bridge, immediate left by parapet towards Sandbach. Access from canal boats along wharf/canal bank path.

Monday to Wednesday the real ales are £3.00 a pint (June 2024).
