This Pub is Permanently Closed

After various fires following refusal by Telford & Wrekin Council, demolished over the weekend of 19/11/2022.

Closed following a fire in January 2020.

Plans were submitted to demolish the site and build six houses and four bungalows in its place.

A local developer said the site had become financially unviable to continue as a pub, and would instead suit residential use.

But Telford & Wrekin Council turned down the plans, saying the developer had failed to demonstrate that there was a lack of need for the pub, or that there was a good alternative in the local area.

Planning application details Application 06/10/2020: TWC/2020/0696 Demolition of former public house and erection of 10no. dwellings. Full Granted 03/02/2022. Pub demolished Nov 2022.
