Small, traditional public house with exposed beams and brickwork, recently reopened with new enthusiastic publicans

Front entrance up several steep steps or low rear door down a step.

Real ale is now back - with three hand pumps in use - and two keykeg beers are offered from local brewery, Grid Beer Project, as well as other craft beers and lagers.

The pub welcomes home and away fans on match days.

It has a small, neat courtyard garden at rear, furnished with wooden tables and bench seats.

Awarded local CAMRA Phoenix Award for reopening after being closed for over a year. Finalist in local branch 2026 CAMRA Pub of the Year and Cider Pub of the Year.

Historic Interest

The building itself is said to be 17th Century, according to Historic England, but with a pub here from the 18th century.
