Upmarket, food-oriented, 16th century coaching inn. Drinkers will feel most comfortable in the low-level area to the left of the bar as this has a good pubby feel to it. Food can be taken in the galleried restaurant, the large conservatory, the bar itself (which features a roaring log fire in winter) or under parasols in the attractive garden.
Nene Valley Brewery provides the house bitter. 3 guest beers are usually very interesting. The food is home cooked and includes meat from the pub's own cattle and pigs.
