Opened in July 2020, this Wetherspoon pub is smaller and more intimate than many, with relatively low ceilings, dark green walls and mainly carpeted flooring. There is an extended seating area to the left and a small "secret garden" to the rear. The pub is named after the founder of the Crossgates Carriage Works, which manufactured buses from 1921 until 1984. Optare was founded by former workers and continued to manufacture buses onsite until 2011 with the works demolished soon after. Ale Club every Wednesday from 5pm with reduced prices on cask beer and occasional events.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers and 3 regular beers.
