A traditional community pub in every sense of the word that appeals to the largest section of the local area. Situated on a modern estate, visitors will receive a friendly welcome from management and staff alike. Up to four well-kept real ales are served from the L-shaped bar which often includes a session bitter, a local ale and two guest. These are supplied from a good cross section of breweries who operate nationally, regionally or from the local area. Two house beers "70 Hero" and "21 Celsius" celebrate birthdays of the licensees parents that were brewed by Brakspear and Ringwood breweries respectively. All drinks are served in the cleanest of glasses, something which the licensee prides herself on. The pub is a previous winner of the local CAMRA Branch's "Most Improved Pub of the Year" award and is supportive of the local community by running pool and two darts teams. The licensee also prides herself on their charity work and has raised, and continue to raise, thousands of pounds for local causes and people in and around the community. Newspapers are available during the winter months. There are two TVs that show sporting events (sometimes two different sports at the same time) or music videos. Children are welcome until 7:30pm. Entertainment, including some live music acts, a disco and private parties are all on offer, so the pub can get very lively at times. There is an outdoor two-tier sun terrace, which can be accessed through the side entrance to the pub. This also acts as a smoking area for those who wish to use it. This pub has featured in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide in recent years.
